1. Controller and contact
Mizzen Studios is the controller for personal data processed in operating TradeDocs at uk-invoice-pdf.online. Questions or privacy requests can be sent to support@json-translate.com.
2. The short version
Quotes, invoices, receipts, client details, bank details, logos and reusable line items are processed in your browser and stored in local browser storage. TradeDocs does not upload that document content to Mizzen Studios.
Payments are handled by Stripe. Optional analytics loads only after you choose “Allow analytics”. You can use the free generator without creating an account.
3. Information processed on your device
TradeDocs uses localStorage to save:
- your current document draft, including business and client details, bank account name, sort code, account number, line items, VAT settings, notes and payment instructions;
- saved clients, reusable line items, logo image data and brand colour when those features are used;
- your free or Pro state and, after checkout, a Stripe checkout session identifier used to verify entitlement; and
- your analytics consent choice.
This information remains in that browser profile until you edit it, overwrite it or clear the site's storage. Private browsing and browser or device changes may remove it. Mizzen Studios cannot view or recover locally stored document content.
4. PDFs, CSV files and data leaving your device
PDFs are generated locally by code running in your browser. Clicking download saves the PDF through your browser; it is not uploaded to us. A document leaves your device only when you choose to store, print, email, upload or otherwise share it using your own device or another service.
TradeDocs does not currently import or export CSV files. No CSV data is sent to Mizzen Studios. If this functionality is introduced, this policy will be updated before server-side document processing is used.
5. Free use, Pro and Stripe payments
No account is required for the free generator. TradeDocs also does not create a conventional Mizzen Studios account for Pro. Your Pro entitlement is associated with a Stripe Checkout transaction and a session identifier stored locally in your browser.
When you choose Pro, the app sends the selected plan to our billing service and redirects you to Stripe. Stripe collects and processes payment details, billing information, email address, fraud-prevention signals and transaction records under its own privacy terms. We receive or can access transaction status, plan, Stripe customer or transaction identifiers and customer email so we can provide and support Pro access. We do not receive full card details.
Our billing service receives the checkout session identifier when entitlement is verified. It may also process standard technical request information, such as IP address, user agent, time and security logs, for delivery, troubleshooting, abuse prevention and legal compliance.
6. Analytics, cookies and similar storage
TradeDocs offers optional Google Analytics 4 (GA4). It is not loaded unless you consent through the analytics banner. If allowed, GA4 processes page URL and title, approximate location derived from IP address, device/browser information and interaction or engagement data. We configure IP anonymisation and do not intentionally send document, customer, bank or payment details to analytics.
Google Analytics may set or read analytics cookies such as _ga and use similar identifiers. Your consent choice is stored in localStorage under tradedocs.analytics-consent.v1. Declining analytics does not prevent use of the generator. You can withdraw consent by clearing TradeDocs site data or analytics cookies in your browser, after which the banner will ask again.
Local storage used for drafts, entitlements and consent is necessary to provide the features you request and is not used for cross-site advertising. TradeDocs does not use advertising cookies.
7. Why we process information
- Contract: to take payment, verify entitlement, provide Pro and respond to support relating to a purchase.
- Consent: to run optional GA4 analytics. You may withdraw this consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests: to secure, operate, debug and improve the service, prevent abuse and keep proportionate technical logs.
- Legal obligation: to keep transaction, tax or compliance records and respond to valid legal requests.
Document content kept only in your browser is controlled by you. If you use TradeDocs to process another person's information, you are responsible for having an appropriate lawful basis and giving any required privacy information.
8. Service providers and disclosures
We use service providers including Stripe for payments, Google Analytics (only with consent), and cloud hosting and delivery providers for the website and billing service. They process limited information on our behalf or as independent controllers under their own terms.
We may disclose information where required by law, to protect rights or security, in connection with a business reorganisation, or to professional advisers bound by confidentiality. We do not sell your personal data or document content.
9. International transfers
Some providers may process personal data outside the UK. Where UK data protection law requires safeguards, we rely on adequacy regulations, approved contractual protections or another lawful transfer mechanism. Provider privacy notices give more detail about their locations and safeguards.
10. Retention and security
Local document data remains until you clear or overwrite it. Payment and accounting records are retained for the periods required by tax, accounting, fraud-prevention and legal obligations. Support communications and security logs are kept only as long as reasonably needed for the relevant purpose. Analytics information follows our GA4 settings and Google's applicable retention controls.
We use measures appropriate to the service, including HTTPS, restricted billing endpoints, Stripe-hosted payment collection and browser-local document processing. No system is completely secure, so you should protect access to your device and review PDFs before sharing bank or client information.
11. Your data protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law may give you rights to access, correct, erase or restrict personal data, object to processing, receive portable data, and withdraw consent. These rights can be limited by law.
Because document content is held only in your browser, you can view, change or erase it directly; we cannot retrieve it for you. For information held by us or connected to a Pro purchase, email support@json-translate.com. We may need to verify your identity.
You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, although we would appreciate the chance to address your concern first.
12. Children and changes
TradeDocs is a business document tool and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect children's personal data through the service.
We may update this policy when the service, providers or law changes. The effective date above will show the latest revision. Material changes will be highlighted through the service where reasonable.
